Personal / Local Note:

I attended a meeting held by the League of Women Voters of the Mid-Hudson Valley last night, and I found them to be a very friendly, warm, welcoming group of activist women...

The League is open for membership - and seeking volunteers (guess who signed on?) to serve as nonpartisan "observers" [my blog is my blog; my role there (non-partisan factual coverage for the League's Newsletter) will be different] at some of the Mid-Hudson Valley Government meetings...
